Harvard-trained interventional radiologist with more than fifteen years of experience in image-guided therapy, and one of the earliest American operators of prostatic artery embolization.
Dr. Yosef Golowa is double board-certified in Diagnostic Radiology and Vascular and Interventional Radiology, and a Fellow of the Society of Interventional Radiology. He is Harvard-trained and has more than fifteen years of experience in innovative, minimally invasive, image-guided therapy.
He spent over twelve years as an attending physician at Montefiore Medical Center, where he held the appointment of Associate Professor of Radiology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Across his career he has performed many thousands of image-guided procedures and is a well-regarded teacher of the techniques to trainees and to practicing physicians.
Dr. Golowa was among the co-investigators in the early United States clinical trials of prostatic artery embolization. He performed his first PAE in 2013 in São Paulo, Brazil, studying under one of the physicians who pioneered the procedure — years before it was widely available in the United States. He is one of the most experienced interventional radiologists in the tri-state area in PAE, with hundreds of patients treated and excellent outcomes.
He continues to be committed to advancing effective, less invasive treatments, and to a team-based approach in which the patient meets everybody who will be involved in their care rather than being passed between departments.
